Tembari in pictures - Saturday, Sept 3, 2011

A Friend of Tembari Children

AS USUAL, Saturday at Tembari would always be very busy, with the kids watching video programs and volunteer moms cooking the children’s lunch. See some pictures below:
1) Tembari children watching a movie, a treat they would get on a Saturday. On weekdays, they could only watch children’s education programming.
3) A newly-arrived donation of flavored milk from SVS supermarket in Port Moresby and purified water from Pure Water Company.
4). Hayward Sagembo, Tembari Co-Founder and Director, distributing packs of flavored milk to children who were having their lunch.
5) Volunteer moms preparing the day’s meals.
6) An expat-supporter checking the water tap of a tank that contains bulk water donated by High Energy Co. The company is paying for the monthly water delivery of 5,000 liters.
7) Two new water tanks, each with a capacity to store 9,000 liters, were installed last week to boost water source at Tembari. They are donated by Boroko Rotary Club and the Rotary Club of Kewana Watters in District 9600, Australia. Tembari will try to source its water from underground, which will be determined as to its exact spot by a volunteer hydrologist from a private water company in Port Moresby. – All pictures by blogger AP Hernandez, Port Moresby, PNG Sept 2011
