MY charity in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, - the Tembari Children’s Care (TCC) of which I am the vice-president and financial controller -- has received a generous donation of K40,000 (Php618,000) from the Malaysian Association of Papua New Guinea (MAPNG).

Turned over on Tuesday (Nov 5), the funding marked the third year that the community has been giving to Tembari, a community-based organization looking after 200 abandoned, orphaned and neglected children at the ATS-Oro settlement outside of Port Moresby.

Tembari, which provides pre-school, elementary and primary education to its beneficiaries, also conducts a feeding program from Monday to Saturday.

Last year, Tembari also received the same amount from the Malaysian community.

Tembari is providing various services to the beneficiary children with help from the business community, charitable groups, associations and individuals.

The facility was founded in 2003.
